Libby

What is Libby?

Libby is a free, user-friendly app developed by OverDrive that allows library users to borrow digital books, audiobooks, and magazines using a library card. It features seamless borrowing with no late fees, as titles return automatically. The app is compatible with iOS, Android, and Kindle devices and enables offline reading.

How to log on to Libby

For IOS/Android/Kindle Fire:

  1. Install the Libby app.

  2. When asked if you have a library card, select Yes.

  3. Search for New Castle Library District

  4. When asked, select Choose a location, then select Community Library of the Shenango Valley

  5. Sign in with your library card number and password (if you don't have a password, call or stop by the library to set one up!).

For Kindle E-Readers:

  1. Use a computer, Android, or iOS mobile device to sign in to Libby with your library card number and password. 

  2. From the Libby search page, select Preferences.

  3. Select Supports, then select Kindle. Select Apply Preference.

  4. After you check out the title, select read now with Kindle.

    • A new window opens showing the Amazon.com login screen

  5. Sign in to your Amazon.com account.

    • If you are already signed in, the ebook page is shown.

  6. Select the orange Get Library Book button.
